Another great game for the series but the classic Pokemon formula is starting to show it's age.

Pokemon Platinum is another fantastic addition to the pokemon series but the classic formula that has held the series in favor with millions for almost fifteen years is finally starting to show it's age.

Don't get me wrong, the game is still great but static sprites and 8-bit sound effects are starting to get old and are very unimpressive on a handheld console which has as much or more power than a N64.

The overworld graphics are a step up from Diamond and Pearl with up-side down waterfalls and moving platforms the Distortion World is great fun and actually quite challenging to navigate.

Gameplay is the same old pokemon formula that most of us know and love.
D-Pad to move, X to bring up the menu, B button to cancel decisions and A button to confirm decisions. Easy to pick up and easy to master.

As with other Pokemon games the fact that no two pokemon that you catch are the same makes the game very easy to replay and with tasks to accomplish after the main game, along with the inclusion of a full battle frontier make a game that can potentially last you 150+ hours.

To sum it up, Pokemon Platinum is a great game and another great addition to the fantastic Pokemon series.
