Game Review-Gameboy Color-Pocket Bomberman

Review 18

I hate to waste a review on this game, but I played it, and so now I’ll review it.

Game Genre: Action

Graphics
Holy cow. Did the company that made this game even spend time on it? Even though it’s a Gameboy Color launch title, it still has graphics reminiscent of the Atari. Plus just a tad bit of color. Like a shade of red now and then. Gameplay
Well…there’s not much to say. Everybody who’s played a Bomberman title knows the gameplay. Well, in Pocket Bomberman…you can jump…run…and place bombs on the ground or in the air (don’t ask how). There are 5 levels to play, each with many separate areas. When all the enemies in one area are defeated, the door to the next area opens.

Controls
Hmm…why is that I start with a one or two word fragment at the beginning of each category? Because I’m trying to make this review long enough to count as a decent review. Anyway…

The D-Pad moves. The “A” button places a bomb. The “B” button jumps. That’s it.

Story
Pretty typical. The sun has been sealed away. Bomberman is the only hero left who can fix it by finding 5 of something or another.

Durability
This game may have been exciting when it was released, but I played it for about 15 minutes and then never again.

Frustration Rate: No Clue
I didn’t play the game long enough to be frustrated, but I actually felt a little bit of anger because I had some trouble passing the third area of the first level.
