The game that started it all. A great game that all RTS fans should play.

Pikmin is a fun game that sets you off with an opening that just says play me. You see a ship flying throw space with it's caption inside. It soon hits a large rock and the ship flies down to the nearest planet. Once on impact you find yourself need your broken down ship. And so you head off to look for the missing parts but soon find out you can't left, let alone carry it back to the ship. And so you find these plant like creatures that you call Pikmin. They help you get your ships engine back and so the story begins.

I love RTS. This is every fun in that way. You have to plan out every day so you can get all 30 parts back in 30 days or... well let's not go there. The controls are great. You have full control of the camera and the 100 Pikmin on the filed. Planning is a big part of the game as well as timing and the outcome of fighting. Fighting is also good. You have to use the right Pikmin at times to beat the right foes. Though their body severs as a need to get more Pikmin, which is good cause the bigger the more Pikmin. Also you can use palettes to make more Pikmin and you get more for having the same color of palette as Pikmin. There are 3 different types of Pikmin each with it's own skill and body part. Reds can move through fire and have pointy noses. Blues can move through water and have mouths. And Yellows have ears and can pick up and set bombs.

The playing area to this game is every colorful as well as how can I put this decorated. The levels are full of things that make them look their own, as well as the different baddies. Even the Pikmin look different from one another, color wise that is. Everything works well but there are times when the colors and objects fool you, but that's what the map is for I guess. The map is well detailed but it's hard to use at first. Over time you will learn where all the cracks and ramps are so you don't even need to use it.

The back round music is great. In fact some of the best I've heard. Each of the stages have songs that fit them really well. Other sounds like the Pikmin yells and so on are perfect for this type of game. Other sounds like the text (as in when Olimar is talking with is long, draw out logs about what he just saw or the day and so on) get boring really fast but other then that it's good to go.

This game is over really fast which is sad. Why only because 30 Pikmin days go by really fast. That should be a good thing but days are every short for some people, not me though they are just fine. Most of the time I'm left with time left over to do nothing but run around like a cray man fighting things that could easily kill me. But the game will bring you back to be played more and more though after awhile it runs together because there's nothing new to do.
