This game is a very lengthy and fun point & click adventure game which I highly reccomend to any DS fans out there.

A law video-game. A video-game... mixed with law? You are probably thinking to yourself, 'WHAT THE HELL'. However, this odd combination really is an excellent one. Capcom managed to successfully mix together a traditional point & click adventure game with law sections based in court.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney sees you playing as the title character, Phoenix Wright. You are a defendant in court, which must use evidence you have collected throughout the game to use against the prosecutor who will be trying to trial a suspect as guilty, even if he may not actually be so.

In between court sessions, you will have to look around the crime scene and various other areas that may hold evidence. At these stages, you will have to examine the area, as well as ask people questions about the day of the incident etc. so that you can rack up enough evidence to trial the suspect as innocent.

One of the first things that I noticed when I started up the game is that it has an awesome soundtrack, especially when the game play gets intense in the court. The almost 8-bit tunes go perfectly with the suspense that the awesome script can cause as you give everything you've got to win the court battle.

The graphics to the game are really cool as well. They may not be amazing 3D advanced graphics, however they are still wonderful. In the court, most of the graphics consist of sprites which are really cool and can often reflect on the characters thoughts and help you realise if you are playing your cards right. The areas you will visit also have nice graphics, however they are more typical 2D graphics, without the sprites.

I have little to criticise on this must have DS game. However, the one main point that annoys me about this game is that the cases can get a bit boring and long winded. For example, I am on case 4 of 5, and I found that each case gets longer as you progress. The first case was pretty short, as it was mainly a tutorial level. Case 2 was probably the ideal length, as it consisted of 2 court sessions (I think) as well as a fair amount of interviews and investigations. However, it's when I got on to case 3 that things got a bit too long. Every time I thought I was finished on the case, the prosecutor would find a way to contradict me, adding even more time to the game. Sure, this is great, and I'm not saying that the game should be shorter. However, I think that in future games, the cases should be shorter, however there should be more of them, as they can get quite boring when you are tackling the same issue for a long time.

Overall, this is a fantastically scripted, excellent law game, even if it can occasionally lack in variety. Once I finish this completely, I will invest in buying all the sequels, which will hopefully have answered my request of shorter cases, but more of them.
