In starting I would just like to say Ive only played Perfect World for 10 hours or less. I must say that it was 10 hours well spent. First of all one of the main alluring aspects of this game is the fact that it is of course free. A mmorpg that is on par with world of warcraft that I can play for free..? Count me in. I am sure we all can agree that for a free mmorpg, Perfect World, does in fact create a perfect world. At least it is pretty darn close to perfection. Visually the game is astounding. Sure it doesnt have the same visuals as some of the more sophisticated software of today, but it gets the job done, and it gets it done well. Another factor is the gameplay, very akin to what you find in World of Warcraft with skill trees and a full roster of emotes that vary depending on gender and race. The double jump adds a unique dimension in that you can jump ridiculously high even on to roof tops like you might see in a bond movie. Throw realism out of the window here as this is a pure fantasy game through and through. Another key element in Perfect World is the unbelievable amount of options you have when creating a character. 3 races, each with 2 distinct classes based on gender. That is probably the one thing I would like to see different. While a small gripe it would be nice to have more then just one class for each gender of a given race as it feels like your forced into a class if you like a particular racial look. Another issue is that while most of the races have tremendous options for customization I would have liked to seen more with the wolf. A change of fur color, or perhaps markings. Most of the wolves in the game look simillar, which makes it hard to seperate yourself from other players. Would also be nice to see the wolf barbarians get tails. Again this is minor considering all of the great things you are given. The combat is well done too, the action is fast paced and moves smoothly. This leads into the quests. While some may feel the kill quests drag on, In the time I played it was seldom an issue as I was already at high enough level that killing the required monsters were a breeze. I actually like kill quests as it allows for quite a boon to experience. The number of quests is overwhelming but not in a bad way. You are seldom without things to do. The player community is always quite willing to help and Ive found them to be all around good to get along with. And contrary to what some believe, there is a plot. On the main page of the website there is a intriguing story about the history of Perfect World and the god Pangu. Now in the game, the npc's even give bits of information in regards to events in the world around them. Its another level of immersion, requiring a bit of reading but allowing for greater plot depth. I expect it to get a bit more involved as I continue to play. On an final note, Perfect world, is just that, a perfect world where you can cast aside the worries of the real world and immerse yourself in a great environment of fantasy.
