Panzer General is a great game for strategy fans and board game enthusiasts alike, despite some technical issues.
For game modes, there is a campaign that spans a dozen missions, quick-play, and a multiplayer mode. The campaign is mostly what you would expect for a game of this type; scenario after scenario. You can replay these missions and try to achieve a "Superior" victory by winning the scenario within the special parameters, or you can up the difficulty to hard to challenge yourself even more (trust me, only experienced players will want to do that). Once you're done with the single-player experience, you can go on to play multiplayer matches against other users. One of the better features of this game is the ability to create and edit decks with cards you win from playing. This feature isn't necessary, but it helps if you want to get the most out of your deck.
Technically, Panzer General has its fair share of problems. The frame-rate is unstable in some questionable areas (actions like airstrikes can bring it down noticeably). Although it isn't too much of an issue in a game of this type, it can become distracting. The models in the game are not bad, but their nothing amazing compared to some other games of it's type. The animations are stiff and there is only 1 animation for every unit action, so be prepared to see your units tossing the same grenades over and over again.
Even with it's technical issues, Panzer General: Allied Assault is a great game that shouldn't be missed by strategy enthusiasts.
