A great version of one of the greatest games ever made.

Pac-Man is one of the most fondly remembered arcade games of all time. In it you play as the titular Pac-Man (who looks like a block of cheese with a mouth) and you travel around a maze eating Pac-Dots to obtain points. You also have to avoid the four ghosts who are also in the maze, as merely touching them is fatal to you. However, if you eat one of the four Power Pellets in the corners of the maze, the ghosts turn blue for a limited time and during this time you can devour them for points. Once you have eaten all of the Pac-Dots in the maze, you progress to the next level, which is exactly the same as the preceding level, apart from the ghosts stay blue for a shorter period when a Power Pellet is eaten. The game gets quite hard quite quickly, making for a challenging game, but it is neither too hard nor too easy.
This Xbox Live Arcade version contains the original arcade game, as well as online leaderboards and achievements. The leaderboards are a great feature, allowing to you compare your score with that of your friends, and the achievements are on the whole rather easy, but a few are a bit trickier, such as eating all four ghosts four times within one level. There is also a level select, allowing to access any level which you have previously reached, which is what makes several of the fruit achievements rather easy, but you can elect not to use it if you choose. The controls handle well and the sound is authentic to the original. Finally, the game is only a mere 400 Microsoft Points, making it a bargain for all self respecting gamers. All in all, a brilliant version of a brilliant game.
