One of the best action games out there.

User Rating: 9.4 | Otogi: Myth of Demons XBOX
Graphics: The graphics in the game are what you would call an artistic masterpiece. The game looks gorgeous in almost every way, except for some minor problems. The environments in the game are what looks the best. They do a great job at pulling you in and make you feel like you were there staring at that panoramic view. I sometimes toped to see the huge details they put on the world. Like birds chirping, and grass swaying under the wind. Yes, its that good looking. Another great thing about Otogi is the particle effects. You can tell that the developers put all of time trying to perfection this part of the game. The result is something I first couldn’t believe my eyes. I had never before seen such awesome particle effects. And another thing is, they don’t only break by your hits, you can also throw enemies at objects or houses and they will break. A la DBZ way. The only bad thing that I noticed in the graphics department was the clipping. Sometimes, when you’re having a big fight you will se that a rock or an enemy just pop out of nowhere. But this rarely happens and doesn’t affect the overall quality of the graphics. Gameplay: There is nothing bad you can say about the gameplay of Otogi. The game has those intuitive controls that help to make you feel even more like you’re there. After a while you’ll feel that pulling all those crazy combos and attacks is natural. But that doesn’t mean the game is not deep, au contrary it is one of the deepest on Xbox. One thing that might turn casuals away from this game is that it doesn’t give unlimited time to finish a stage. But unlike in other games here your magic works as a timer. It will keep going down little by little, and when you run out of magic your life will keep going down. This and the fact that its part of the storyline for your magic to go down, makes the game the more tense and fun. Sound: The sound on Otogi is ancient Japanese mixed together with some rock. The music is very well done except in some noticeable spots. You will hear that each time you’re in a tight spot the music will keep getting louder and louder with an increased rhythm. And when you’re just walking, you nearly not hear it at all. The sound effects, like sword slashing and buildings getting destroyed, are also very well done. The bad part in the sound area is that it get a little boring hearing the same thing all the time. Overall the game has some very good music but the limited soundtracks lower the score by a notch. Value: The value of the game will depend on how much you like it. If you like it a lot you will keep replaying it non-stop. On the other hand, if you don’t like you’ll play like once or twice through the game to unlock the over two dozen weapons and extra objects. There is not much to say here since it will vary by the preference of the player. Overall: The game features awesome graphics, great gameplay, and great sound. If you’re a little interested in a really good action title this is a must buy.
