Why aren't people buying this game??

Otogi 2 is a worthy sequel to the first Otogi. It has the first game's fantastic graphics and an engine that can handle innumerable enemies, explosions, and graphical effects galore with only a rare instance of slowdown. It actually looks better than Otogi 1, but the graphical bar has been rasied by games like Ninja Gaiden, Riddick, and others in the time between the Otogi 1 and 2's release, so it isn't the best looking game on xbox like the first one was when it came out, but it's one of the best for sure. Not just for it's graphical muscle, but for the series trademark colorful dreamlike art style also. The game itself is an all out swordfighting playground. In the first game the main character, Raiko, had a huge assortment of weapons he could earn. Each one made him fight very differently. In Otogi 2, the huge assortment of weapons has been replaced by other characters that you can play. Each one plays differently and just as in Otogi 1, where weapon selection in a level could mean the difference between kicking ass and having yours kicked, in Otogi 2 character selection serves the same function. Each of the characters has his or her (or its) own unique playing style which makes playing levels over a very different experience with each character. While the music is distinct and beatiful and certainly unlike the music you'll hear in any other game, I don't think it quite lives up to the haunting memorable melodies heard in the first game. But it suffers only in comparison to its predecessor. Taken on its own, it is first rate. Unfortunately, Otogi 2 seems to be selling even worse than the first game did (if that's possible), so the chances of a 3rd game are very remote presumably. But if you're at all interested in swordfighting game genre, especially if you like Japanese swordfighting games like Ninja Gaiden and the Onimusha series, please pick up Otogi 2 (and Otogi 1 while you're at it). You won't be dissapointed and you might be surprised to find yourself thinking that Otogi is in fact the best game of its type!
