I want so much to say I liked it, but I can't. There are too many annoying flaws in Orphen to consider it a good game

Ohhhh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I want to say I liked this game. It seemed so interesting at a glance that I almost was fooled into calling it good. After repeated plays, I realized a very ugly truth- this game is... lacking in so very much it hurts. Fans of the anime should be doubled over in very real pain that a game such as this exists. It seems to mock it, disgrace it on purpose. Where to begin? I suppose the most prominent issue is sound. At first, you may enjoy hearing "hand of Pyro." It might sound cool, really awsome. Then it plays the 200th time, and you begin to reconsider. Pretty soon, sounds in the game become extremely painful on the poor ears. Being drop-kicked down a flight of stairs becomes a very happy reality all the sudden when compared to being forced to listen to the same sound bit 325 times every day. The effect becomes one of nails on the chalkboard, or the sword on the metal grinder. Not very appealing. The graphics? Eh. Considering its a first gen PS2 game, I'll let it slide, but it certainly could've gone for a little more. It was more reminiscent of a first gen- N64 game then a true PS2 game. not that I buy games for graphics, but this was hard. There were some cases where peoples arms actually popped off and seemed to float in midair for a bit. I found this very impossible, considering human anatomy. Really, how do they do that? But hey, the water looks cool. Dissapointing. There was much creativity here- the battle system was fairly clever, and the plot was not one of a painful endevour. But in the end, playing the game becomes a chore and not a pleasure. No game should ever come to that. ever. At least it doesnt cost much nowadays.
