A solid shooter.

User Rating: 8 | Operation Wolf NES
Operation Wolf is a shooter game made by Taito. It's the prequel to Operation Thunderbolt, which was a little more popular. The object of the game is to rescue hostages from a POW camp. There are six stages, and completion of each stage advances the story. This was one of the first shooter games to feature a real storyline. Some of the objectives of ther game were to destroy enemy communications, capturing an enemy squad leader and interrogating him Jack Bauer style to find out where the camp is, killing lots of enemies, destroying an enemy ammo dump, killing more enemies, and eventually finding and rescuing the prisoners. You then have to escape via an airport. Your player has a damage bar that increases each time they are hit and also when they shoot an innocent Once the bar reaches maximum, the game is over. One unique factor for it's time is that there are multiple endings depending on how the game is finished. If you manage to finish the game, the ending will be different depending on how many hostages you've rescued.
