The game is a chance to go back to the old days with a upgrade.
Since castlevania on ps1 this is the first chance to play a game like
in the truly era of the videogames.
Side scrolling games are rare today. In my opnion games like this
must be made all the time. Even the old and good sprites deserve a chance.
The rpg elements is ok but not necessary. Levels and design is the
best part here and the gameplay alied with colorfull animated graphics
make a great job. Sound and music are beautiful.
But in the end what make it so great is the basic idea of what is realy fun.
I am in the games since the 70s (Pong, breakout, Asteroids, Space Invaders) and today all i get is a bunch of little tricks to hide a lack of creativeness.
I dont make much reviews (this is my first) but Odin Sphere give a chance
for me.
