Mercilessly hard, but only the strong willed and patient gamer can survive this game!

User Rating: 9.5 | Ninja Gaiden XBOX
Ah, Ninja Gaiden. We all remembered the old-school NG games, and loved them. This is the recent installment to the older NG series. Only one thing separates this Ninja Gaiden from the rest....It's extremely hard! Ninja Gaiden is one of the most complicated games to ever hit the XBOX. You are Ryu Hayabusa, a ninja who was once killed by a powerful warrior with a cursed sword(which was stolen)after trying to protect your village. Being brought back to life, your mission is to retrieve the Dark Dragon Sword by the Demon king and get revenge for your village. That's basically the story, now the good things about this game. There are a lot of good qualities on this, which include the gameplay. Overall the gameplay is exceptional and is captivating. Ryu is able to use different variety of weapons(ranging from swords, nunchaku, arrows, and hammers) and martial art moves. Ryu is very fast and agile when used properly, and can dish out all sorts of combos and finishers. The enemy's AI is very good as well when cooperating in groups to take down Ryu. Though the gameplay isn't the only thing that's amazing, the graphics and CGI movies are without a doubt stunning. The environment is interacting and interesting to look at. The best thing about this game is the Easter eggs and hidden secrets to track down, which can unlock some very special items. Now the only thing bad about the game is the difficulty level. When I said this game was merciless, I meant it. The enemies are very ruthless as well as the bosses, and they can be cheap. You can have this game on easy and it feels like you're playing on the highest difficulty setting. Even hardcore gamers had trouble with Ninja Gaiden. Fortunately I was lucky enough to complete this game. Which is why I stated that you must have a strong will and patience to play, cause NG is ruthless. The levels are frustrating if you don't know your way around(which means you can easily get lost). My final verdict...as always rent it first, but if you like an over-the-top challenge, then Ninja Gaiden is definitely for you.
