A re-review of NHL10, What a POS
All sense of teamwork is thrown out the window 95% of the time, the other 5% you get lucky enough to get matched with a team that isn't full of screaming idiots, you get a bunch of players without headsets, and I know why they don't wear them now. Who would want to listen to a community this bad?
The penalties online are beyond stupid, you can get a tripping call when your stick is nowhere near the other player, slashing from 10 feet away, it's just BAD.
The online versus mode is once again, a joke, almost all of the goals are cross-creases passes, over, and over, and over again, same thing, nothing interesting or new.
The music in this game is for the most part good, with a few songs that really really get annoying after awhile The commentators need to be turned off as soon as you start the game, because after listening to a period of them, you'll probably be ready to punch them both.
The in-game sound itself is solid, the hits sound like you're simply ending them.
The offline gameplay is a lot more fun than the online, Be a gm mode is fun, but way too easy to control, you can basically take the worst team in the league and have them as the best team in a single year, again, too easy.
Be a pro mode is a letdown, you don't get much control over where you play, your contract, etc, etc, you can't demand a trade or do anything like that, again, annoying.
Overall, after playing this for as long as I have, I have to say, it's not worth buying. at all.
To quote another game reviewer I'd rather have a buffalo take a diarrhea dump in my ear than play this game online anymore.
