New Material or same as NHL 09?

Remembering back on the NHL series, they were all the same just each one had better graphics and a few new gameplay features. Then when NHL 09 hit it was Revolutionary for the series, it was a breath of fresh air, the series was revived, then came NHL 10...

NHL 10 is a great game with a few great new features and a couple of let-downs too. Lets start with the good new features.

First of all, one of the most hyped features, first-person fighting, its really cool, I guess that EA got the whole, "Fighting sucks" from NHL 09. Its a real upgrade though. Dodging, Blocking, Uppercuts, Powerful blows, regular punching and countering. Really neat, but people shouldn't be too into the fighting. I mean, its not boxing its hockey, its just a good add-on

Secondly, they've added some offensive moves like checking against the boards and grabbing the puck and throwing it to the ground and they also added over 100 new goalie animations.

Now the bad news...

The worst is the thing that Madden 10 did which is just the stupidest thing a Sports game can do. I am talking about giving the option to purchase power-ups (such as skating faster, better aim, etc.) on Xbox Live Marketplace. No sports game should do this because its a waste of money and people really dont want to buy more, the $70 is enough to pay.

Last is that they did not put much (if any) new cutscenes like intros and the most important of all WINNING THE STANLEY CUP!!
