I haven't played a hockey game since the 90's on my PlayStation. So I thought I would get back into the swing with this game. I am glad I bought the game. There is a bunch of things to do. You have your usual season modes and creating a player etc. But I like that EA added the gear upgrades. Kind of a fun thing to play for. The difficulty is spot on. The harder levels it's all about passing, if you try and lug the puck its gonna get poke checked. I found this very annoying at first but I got used to it. Also the AI can act very stupid at times. Not the other team, but your teammates. Sometimes you pass the puck to them or it will just be rolling by and they make no effort to get the puck they just keep skating like "duhh I dunno nothin." As for the fighting aspect, I like the idea but it's kind of retarded the way the players fight. And the checking is kind of lame too, maybe I am just doing it wrong but it seems like you have to be right in front of the guy to check them, not from the side. But all those kinks are just minor. I still get addicted to hockey games and this one is no different. Overall I would recommend this game to hockey fan-addicts and casual gamers alike.
