Best Hockey game ever. All it is missing is the blood.
It took a long time for a hockey game to come out that really got me wanting to play regularly, and that would have been NHL 09. Even that was lacking something, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Then I tried NHL 10 last week for the first time ever. It was everything that NHL 09 was, and far more. For me its all about being able to play as a Pro. This is the feature I have been waiting for, and I never knew it.
Get drafted, play a few in the majors, get bumped to the minors. Its all about stats and how well I do in every game to get that valuable experience that I NEED to increase my sub-par mid-70s stats. I mean, if I really want to be a superstar, and retire as a hall of famer, I am going to need much better stats.
Stats cost a lot to raise a point, and you don't get much experience per game. The only way to get better and more dominant is to play more... and playing more is all this game makes me want to do.
Highly addictive, very enjoyable.
Often my team will score without my help... and also as often it seems its all up to me to make that perfect pass, or score that winning goal.
I wish I was at home right now, writing this article has made me want to play in a bad way.
