This game is great, now for awhile the series got really bad, and last year that started to change, I liked alot of the stuff EA did last year, I liked that you could set up some plays and move the puck, and now this year they have just floored me with what they have added. The all new deke system is great, it creates a lot more exciting scoring chances and lets you be even more creative, as well as the skating physics, which now if your flying down the ice you dont just always stop on a dime, it takes into account players weight and movements which makes it feel more realistic. The new goalie animations and desperation saves look great, the goalies seem to move more and make scoring a goal on them look more realistic. The addition of the net rippling on hard shots and the water bottle coming off the net add more authenticity to the game and just make it a lot more enjoyable. The biggest plus I am excited about is the re-addition of the create a player, which is insane this year, you can tweak every aspect of your players face even putting scars and blackeyes on your characters, and yes even a broken nose! I havent played the game too much yet as I just got it a few hours ago, but this game is great, I am totally happy that I went with this one over nhl 2k6, trust me if you love hockey, get this game, its great.
