NFL GameDay 98

User Rating: 5.9 | NFL GameDay 98 PS
NFL Gameday 98' is a football game released by Sony Computer Entertainment of America. This game is a decent football game, but in it’s time it was loaded with features that the competitors did not have. For the game play, the football game is more geared to the running game, rather the passing game. If you run it is easy to stiff arm the opposing players and to gain the extra yardage needed. On the other hand, if you try to pass, you have to snap the ball, wait till you stop and then press X again to open the passing menu. Then finally you may pass the ball. The game has a fully stocked roster of the National Football Leagues teams and players. They even have special moves or animations for specific players. Also, there are over five hundred different plays to fill your play book with. These plays were supposedly taken from actual NFL team play books. They games even include past Superbowl teams to recreate your favorite football memories. The game easier to play from the defensive side of the ball rather then being the attackers. Defensive players can easily take down the Running Backs, Quarterbacks, and Wide Receivers. On the other side of he ball it is almost impossible to escape from defenders if they are closing in on you. The main problem that I have with this game is that the first letter of the Players last name isn’t capitalized. Instead the whole name is just in lower case. Besides two or three slight flaws and the game having a rubber band effect, this game is actually a decent football game. If you can muster past the bad graphics and lack of commentary this could be the best football game that was released the 1998. I would give this one a no go, unless you are a collector of this series.
