Pacific Assault commencing early

After being pushed back, the latest Medal of Honor game's deployment date is moved up--the special DVD Director’s Edition is due November 2, and the regular version is due November 9.

In August, PC gamers eager to storm the beaches of Tarawa in Medal of Honor Pacific Assault were told to stand fast until November. In a message on the game's official site, the game's developers at Electronic Arts' Los Angeles studio made the following statement: "EA has listened to the feedback of critics and consumers who have played an early build of Medal of Honor Pacific Assault; their high expectations encouraged us to add some extra time to the development schedule in order to add new features and an extra coat of polish to the game."

Apparently that extra coat of polish dried a bit early. EA announced today that Medal of Honor Pacific Assault Director's Edition will ship on November 2, rather than in the mid November date, as most online merchants expected. Besides coming on a DVD, the Director's Edition comes with a bevy of extras, including six video featurettes, ranging from documentaries on the Pacific theater in WWII and behind-the-scenes footage. Also included are two interactive applications and an exclusive mystery weapon.

Those extras don't come free, though--Medal of Honor Pacific Assault Director's Edition will cost $10 more than the regular edition, at an MSRP of $59.99. The standard edition of the game, which will come on CDs, will ship one week later, on November 9. Both editions of the game are rated "T" for Teen.
