NBA 2K14

If you thought NBA 2K13 had bad player animation and AI, then prepare for 2K14, where on any play nearly anything can happen and usually does. As I write this review, I can hear my 3 boys in the next room playing the game and at least every third play there is an outburst at the stupidity of the gameplay. The major problems in this game are with the gameplay, on nearly every play there is a tipped pass, once a tipped pass happens the ball is then "out of sync" with the players. Once this happens, it appears as if the players have no sense of where the ball is, they will turn their backs, they will let it bounce off of their heads, arms and legs and bounce out of bounds. Also, once an "out of sync" ball is on the ground, if you are on defense and approach the ball, it WILL result in a kick ball violation. The player animations are also a joke, often a player can literally be standing in the same place as a defender, shoot the ball as the defender jumps into him and hit the shot, without ever being in contact with the player he is standing inside of. I would also bring special attention to momentum in games that are closer than 8-10 points, if you somehow catch the momentum I would not be surprised by hitting 10 three point shots with say Kentavious Caldwell-Pope or say Shane Battier. Free Throws are flawed to the point of when you let go late, it may say early, and let go early, it may say late. And it is nothing new to miss a clutch free throw in the last minute with a top player in the game on a free-throw where you receive an A- result. Unforced turnovers happen for no apparent reason at least 4 or 5 times a quarter, for each player. I think my main problem with the game is on defense, standing in the passing lane and pressing X on the pass should result in a steal. It does not, often times you will deflect a pass resulting in the ball becoming "out of sync" this could result in an endless amount of possibilities. The ball could then go back toward the defender, or fly sporadically in any direction. Blocking calls are a complete joke and are far worse than 2K13. If you are looking to play a game where players who are rated 90 or above miss wide open lay-ups, then this is the game for you. I absolutely have played this game for the last time. Abysmal, to say the least. NOTE: 8 reviewers on this site gave this game a 1, the lowest score and also commented they will never play a 2K game again. Give you an idea of how bad it is?
