The original MK. Kano, Lui Kang, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Sonya, Reptile, Goro and Shang Tsung. The cast that started it all and set the stage for a birth of a series like no other. Everyone remembers the infamous Pit 1 fatality. The witch flying by the moon, Test your Might.
The genesis version is probably the only game that has a code when once learned, it could never be forgotten.

Reptile was famous with his rare taunts before fights, Scorpion had his famous sprear and fire breath fatality, and who could forget Goro. The most violent game at its time which spawned much media contraversy back in the day. You really had to be there to appreciate this game for what it was then.

7 specific warriors are chosen to defend earth in a tournament that comes once every generation called, Mortal Kombat. The Mortal Kombat champion Goro, has so far managed to win 9 MK tournaments, and earth is in desperate need to win the 10th. If earth loses, Outworld will be able to conquer earth.

This game is a must own for any MK fan whether they experienced it, or are just getting into the franchise through the latest titles.
