Wow... what a spectacular game this is, even after 13 years!

Mortal Kombat II is explicitly simple, but peel back that layer and there's literally days and days' worth of gameplay here that never gets old. The fatalities are as bloody and spectacular as you'd expect, sometimes even disturbing. My personal favorites:

Scorpion's Toasty: No comment.
Kitana's Kiss of Death: Again, no comment.
Mileena's Man Eater: Cool, man. Cool.
Baraka's Spear Slide: The first really disturbing fatality.
Raiden's Electrocution: An interactive fatality that requires you to mash buttons to kill your opponent, this is one of the best.

And we also have Dan "Toasty!!" Forden, Scorpion's spear, plus Johnny Cage's Ball Breaker move! This is as good as MK gets. Whether it's the arcade version or the Midway Arcade Treasures 2 version (which is somewhat faithful to the original), MK2 is one of the best games ever made, if not the best. Go get yourself a copy right now. That's right, I'm talking to you, fanboy!
