I've owned and beaten every Mortal Kombat (fighting, not adventure) and I can easily say that this is the best. The fatalities are superb, the combos are superb, the costumes are superb. The only problems I have with Mortal Kombat is Shao Kahn is almost impossible to beat if you don't have a fast character and the Krypt is somewhat difficult to explore. The design of the Krypt and Nekropolis is an awesome addition, just finding a specific Krypt number can be challenging. The story mode is excellent. Picked right up where it left off and made a reasonable and believable storyline (In MK Fiction, that is). Learning the origins of each character was great for a classic lover like myself. I especially liked Kabal's origin story. It was also interesting to see Human Cyrax, Human Sektor and Cyber Sub-Zero. Finally, I LOVE Test Your Luck and the Challenge Tower. Overall this game is astounding, and I'd recommend it to any fan of Mortal Kombat new, and especially old.
