A necessary remake for the story...

Four hundred MK's later the storyline has become a ball of confusion. Multicolored ninjas, Lui Kang's many forms and a clan for every character had me turning the sound off and skipping all dialogue after MK II. This remake however seemed to be necessary to start over and explain things in a short and sweet fashion. A few movies and you were in a fight. You knew why, and you knew what you had to do. Fighting games are not exempt from a good storyline and I believe Netherrealm finally got that.

The characters, fatalities, stages and surprising cameo's are a great throwback to my SNES/SEGA years and were polished off with a new and somewhat more balanced fighting system.

As usual, the computer will punish you at the start if you are rusty, but after a while you are popping heads off with the best of them.

I recommend this game for serious fighting game fans and completionists. There are tons of hidden goodies in this game.
