I have spent more time on Monster Hunter Tri than any other video game.

The Monster hunter series has always been a staple for Sony's systems, and all of them are absolutely great. Now, it's the Wii's turn to shine, and it brings us Monster Hunter Tri.

The story for this game is that you are a brand new hunter, travelling far to arrive at Moga Village, a quaint little area with not much to show for itself. As of late, there have been earthquakes appearing and nearly destroys the town. It is then your job to figure out the cause of this problem and stop it.

The graphics for MH3 are some of the best the Wii has to offer. Beautifully realistic and sharp, every monster, character, and area looks absolutely amazing. The weapons you will encounter also look extremely detailed, and the armour is very crisp.

I could go on and on and on about the gameplay. There is SO much to do, collect, hunt, and find. The main objective of the game is to hunt monsters, but before you do that, you'll have to obtain armour and weapons. How do you do that? By exploring vast areas, and finding plants, mining rocks, fishing, and catching bugs. Once you have the proper materials for a certain armour piece or weapon (as well as enough zenny, which is money in this game), you will have it. Now it's time to hunt monsters! These range from super small to "I'M SCREWED." There are many monsters to fight, from the simple Great Jaggi to the all-powerful Deviljho. The best thing about this game is how realistic the monsters act. They move just as if they would move in real life, and it actually takes MUCH strategy and timing to bring them down. This is NOT a game where you can just expect to win.

To say this short and sweet, the music is amazing. Peaceful melodies, as well as themes for each specific monster.

For the first time, Monster Hunter has underwater parts! Your hunter will go underwater and fight certain monsters there. Unlike most games, the underwater here is controlled PERFECTLY.

Monster Hunter Tri's online play is amazing. Just amazing. You and 3 other strangers (or friends) go with each other to hunt your objective monster. The hours that I have spent here are unbelievable. This is probably the most fun I have ever had online for any game (even more than Black Ops).

Now onto the things i didn't like:

- the game is very frustrating to get used to for the first week. However, if you manage to pull through, it's easy as pie.

- the font is outrageously small

- the RATHIAN

- to go from area to area, you'll have to wait about 3 seconds each time for it to load

- when online, the small monsters are not synced with other players, meaning if one Jaggi was right in front of my teammate, that same one could be right in front of me.

All in all, BUY MONSTER HUNTER TRI. You will not be disappointed.
