Comments and overall opinion of the game and the gameplay:
Overall the game was just like sitting down and playing a real game of monopoly.
Was the game what you thought it was going to be, how did it meet your expectations:
Yes, it was Monopoly, can’t do much to change it.
What did this game remind you of (if anything):
Of Monopoly the board game
How would you rate the character and the story, and the immersive value of the game (did it draw you in, engage you, and allow you to escape into the world):
No immersive value at all.
If it is a license - how true to the license (in your opinion) is the game:
Very true to the game of monopoly, even allowing you to use your house rules
What are the game's biggest strengths:
The startup screen lets you pick what house rules (from the more popular) that you want to play with.
What are the game's biggest weaknesses:
No difference in any of the game play, Monopoly party still takes just as long as a regular game of monopoly, only your eyes start to hurt from looking at a screen for so long.
Looking at the features listed on the back of the game box, do you think that those features were the games best features? If not what would you have written as the highlighted features:
The best feature is that Monopoly Party incorporates multiple game boards, it has classic monopoly, sci-fi, prehistoric, ancient monuments, and fantasy.
What changes come to mind that you would want to make (if any):
I wouldn’t make any, it follows the game very well.
What elements of this game would you say are worth remembering and reusing again in another game/context:
None
How are the controls:
Easy, point and click menu options.
How are the graphics:
The graphics were not the greatest, and could definitely use a little work, the 3d pieces looked like they would have been better as a 2d setup instead,
How was the game audio (score, sound effects, voice overs, etc.):
The audio is all elevator music, better to play with the TV on mute.
How is the user-interface - menus, controls, etc.:
The menus were easy, but you had to sit right on top of the TV so that you could read them.
Would you recommend the game to others:
No
Who do you think the target audience was for the game (13 to 18 year old boys, first-person shooter fans, etc.):
The target audience for monopoly party would be anybody that is bored and wants to kill time with a bored game that they can’t find anybody else to play.
