The success of the Monkey Island games is proven through its still-present group of fans. The second installment rocks.

What's so magical about a game that was released more than 15 years ago, in a world of simpler and less colourful technology? Off-course, wit and lots of wits.
The Monkey Island series is one of a rare kind, where the game's hero is a cult humour figure still today. Compared to Guybrush, I don't see any character that puts so much life in a game and outside the game. I mean I don't even recall the name of Doom's hero, though I played all of them from the early nineties, or even the name of Dr... what's his name of Half-life. its because Guybrush Threepwood himself is quite a character.
Like the first installment of Threepwood's misadventure, the second game continues to by wacky and addictive. What's so amazing about the game is that it was made in 1990, yet it was so colourful. I have no doubt that the game was far ahead in technology of its time.
Then again, it was the technology that made Monkey Island what it is. As the technology advanced, Lucasarts became not-so-interested in this kind of game. Its so sad that they don't make games as funny as this one anymore. And hey, the title music still rocks.
