Possibly the Greatest Baseball Simulator Created

User Rating: 9.2 | MLB 06: The Show PS2
I was optimistic when I first bought the game. My game, MVP Baseball 2005, was obsolete. I had to give one of the two new games a try. MLB 06: The Show looked as if it had the similarities of MVP Baseball 2005. I popped the disc into the Playstation 2 and I searched through the options and different modes of play. There are several options for gameplay: franchise, online, career, and season. I started a franchise and I was blown away by the depth of the play, from the roster and trade sections to the customization of the organization. Now for the facts of the game. The gameplay was great. The levels of difficult did vary, which most games can't seem to get right. The 3D head scans of the MLB players added a great deal to the overall graphical aspect of MLB 06. The sound was shaky though. There could have been better music in the menus, but as far as in-game sounds, perfect. The value was great but had a few minor flaws. The learning curve is probably the most difficult attribute about the game. If your a returning player, you haven't any worries. If your a former MVP Baseball 2005 player, spend some time in the minigames to gain a sense of "feel" for the game. Overall, the game is impressive. I recommend it for any sports gamer.
