Mindjacked!

User Rating: 6 | Mindjack PS3
The premise of this third person shooter is simple. You play the mission in the story mode and while doing that people can join your games either with you or against you in small sectioned fire fights that are over within minutes. The concept of the game is similar to Demon/Dark Souls, but the execution is well... rather bland. This vanilla of a shooter is not good nor bad. The game feels like its missing something. It's missing some flash or style and this shooter will only live in the shadows of great third person shooters such as Gears of War and Resident Evil. The idea of hacking a persons mind and taking over body might seem fun and it is for about 10 minutes and then you are left asking... "Now what?" The only challenge the game has to offer is, one, trophy hunting for that platinum, two having a somewhat skilled and intelligent person hacking into you're game and messing with you as you are trying to progress in the story line, which by the way that itself is not that innovative. But what if for some crazy reason one does not have internet access? Mindjack's features and strong argument of a game fails. You are left with a solo single player experience to which is like watching a very bland action movie from the 90's. While the game has it's moments but not very often it does, moments such as taking down a giant mind hacked gorilla, it doesn't validate a reason to purchase the game at full price. I personally purchased mine at a clearance price of $12.99 and I am glad I only spent that much if that. I say give it a shot but you'll soon find that mind hacking is much like pancakes. After eating them for about 10 minutes you lose interest and tire of the experience quick.
