Moonwalker has some great ideas, but it falls really short of being a great Genesis game

User Rating: 6.5 | Michael Jackson's Moonwalker GEN
The good: Graphics aren't too shabby, great music, that robot MJ transforms into, dancing and killing enemies is pretty neat
The bad: Saving children and obvious sexual behavior really show what kind of perverts the developers are, Cheap hits from bombs, saving children is just annoying, dancing costs you some life

Game-play: 5/10
Graphics: 8/10
Sound: 10/10
Value: 4/10
Tilt: 6/10

Michael Jackson was the best artist of the 80's, and the greatest solo artist of all time. His hits are so recognizable, for example his Thriller songs. What about a video game? Based on a film based on him, Moonwalker has some great ideas, but it falls really short of being a great Genesis game.

Basically the game is about saving children from the evil Mr. Big. I know what you're thinking. Yeah, it's obvious, I don't have to tell you. But this isn't as easy as it sounds. If you find children in cars, if you see a bomb, you have no time to avoid it. It will kill you in frustration. Plus, going from door to door is frustrating.

Michael Jackson also does the now infamous crotch dance (you heard me right) started in this game. What were the developers thinking? Plus, when you dance and kill enemies, which is pretty cool, you lose some of your energy, which makes no sense what so ever.

Lets go to the positives. The robot you transform into is a beast! Probably the best part of the game, the mega Jackson is ready to kill enemies, but he can't save children. Oh well. The graphics are great, and the soundtrack has a lot of MJ's greatest hits. So this could be a great game for any MJ fan.

Unfortunately, had it not had the frustration of finding children and instead made it a little easier, this would be a hall of famer. This does not deserve a spot in the Gamespot Greatest games ever list. Overall, it's better than what some people say it is, and anyone looking for a challenge should definitly try this out. Everyone else shoudl just leave this on the shelf.
