Moonwalker is great, not for its great music, but for its tribute to one of the greatest pop artists of all time.
Gameplay: 8/10
You are Michael Jackson, and you have to save all of the children from the evil Mr. Bigs. It sounds crazy, and a little scary, but you will get used to it. As being Michael Jackson, you somehow have powers, that could knock away bad guys, dogs, gansters, zombies, and tons of others. You can punch, kick, and even dance the enemies away ( you haven't lived until you have seen the dogs dancing in the game). In each level, you have to rescue a certain number of children, who can be found in the open, closets, cars, even behind tomestones and bushes. Again, weird concept. But at the same time, great execution. It sometimes will get frustrating to find the children, since you dont really know where they are. Besides that, there really isn't a lot else to the game. Oh yeah, and you can MORPH INTO A GIANT ROBOT BY CATCHING A SHOOTING STAR. That in itself is awesome.
Graphics: 8/10
For a Genesis game, it looked impressive, but not really anything captivating. From the empty streets, to the way stars shoot out of Michael's foot when he attacks, it looks cool, but nothing really eye opening. Then again, this was on the Genesis. Sound: 10/10
THE reason to play this game. This game has music from Jackson's high points in his career. Such hits like "Billie Jean", "Smooth Criminal", and "Beat It". It's nostalgic, sounds great, and really makes you remember how Michael Jackson was amazing in the first place. Value: 8/10
The game only have 5 "worlds", and a few levels in each, and the game should take you around 6 to 8 hours to beat. It's not its gameplay that will bring you back, it's the game's style and fun. Conclusion, Tilt: 9/10
This game sure can bring back great memories not only in a gamer, but in a Michael Jackson fan as well. Not only does this game ooze with amazing style and executes its fun and style very well, it is a memorable game, that will make you forget about the "now" Michael Jackson, but it will make you remember when Michael Jackson wasn't a pedophile, but a singing and dancing icon.
