I bought Metroid Prime for about 4 bucks at Gamestop. I had a Gamecube at the time and was waiting to get a 360. When I bought this I thought "Im going to enjoy this." And I did. This is the first Metroid game to come out in 3D and it succeeded. Not only did this game have bosses that took forever to beat and had punishing enemies. This vast land of Tallon IV had about 4 different locations that the player was able to visit. Tallon Overworld (Where you start), Magmoor Caverns (A huge volcanic mine) Phendrana Drifts (The Polar side of Tallon) and the Phazon Mines were the Space Pirates are mining for Phazon and are trying to morph themselves with it. Creating "Super Soilders." For me, this game had punishing difficulty that constantly had me running for a save station to heal up, or just running through the map to save myself when I have low health. The Final Boss isn't all that hard once you figure out its pattern, but getting through the Metroids that are virtually impossible to kill is what ruins the "Getting to the final boss" for a ton of gamers. Having them run to the save station to heal up. This game has beautiful visuals. At the review deck, I said this game tested my patience, that was said due to trying to get 100% in this game unlocking the hidden ending which shows the first Appearance of Dark Samus which becomes a nuisance throughout the Metroid Prime Series. This game is what started the 3D Metroid Series. Had a great impression and tons of greatness inside. The Cons of this game are the re-spawning enemies and the good old Metroid feature, not getting the item you want. For example; Your running low on Missiles and you kill 1000 monsters but still dont get the ammo you need to go on. This game gets 10/10.
This game surprised the hell out of me. I’ll admit that I was one of those who scoffed the instant I learned that the new Metroid would be first-person. A Metroid first person shooter? That can’t be done. There’s no way ... Read Full Review
