User Rating: 9.5 | Metroid Prime Pinball (w/Rumble Pak) DS
As a self-proclaimed 'Pinball Wizard' and long time fan of the Metroid series, I knew I had to own this lesser-known gem of a game. It takes the classic adaptation that we all have come to know as pinball, and themes it as well as adds new dimensions and factors that add up to produce a true diamond of a game.

The game's music is intense and keeps your energy level pumping, with the metal-band covers of all the Metroid songs and theme. Each level has a different song, which adds another sense of depth and replayability. 10/10

The game's graphics are incredible (as DS standards, of course) and it is a treat to see returning character models and environments from Metroid Prime. The game's small amounts of cut-scenes look crisp, and look like they're from a home console. While not at the absolute peak, they certainly do show their point. 9/10

The gameplay takes roughly five minutes to get accustomed to, as the previously-mentioned factors will take some adjusting. In addition to standard pinball, it adds shooting mechanics in the form of a rail-shooter and a bonus game that involves you jumping off of opposing walls to reach the top of a chasm to retrieve an extra ball. At times, the difficulty can seem punishing, but it just makes victory that much sweeter. 10/10

All in all, this is the most perfect handheld pinball game to date. It has stood it's test of time since it's creation in 2005 and offers incredible amounts of fun four years later. I would suggest this game to fans of Metroid, Science Fiction, or die-hard pinball fans. The only room for improvement I could think of is more cut scenes that create a story, but then again, it's pinball, not Metroid Prime.

FINAL SCORE: 9.5/10
