Metal Gear Solid combines Stealth and Action perfectly. This is absolutely one of Konami's Finest. 9.8
PROS: Excellent Voice-Acting. Great Graphics for its time. Excellent Soundtrack. Gameplay is a twist of Stealth and Action, done superbly well. Plot is mind-blowing.
CONS: Skip all the cut-scenes, and you only got about a 4 hour game. If your playing on the Ps2, your gonna need a Ps1, or a Ps1 memory card.
Released in 1998, this game was a absolute hit, & was a critical success. Metal Gear Solid 1 is now known as an Instant classic. And has every right to be.
The acting is top-notch! The voice-actors did an great job. But thats not all whats great about the game. The graphics for its time were great, back then, this was a good looking game. And usually when it comes to plots in videogames, their usually very simple. But not Metal Gear Solid. This game, and the sequels themselves are mind-blowing, and sometimes very stunning, something you can put in an actual movie. Which reminds me, Metal Gear Solid: The Movie. Good Idea!...not really...i mean....they'll just screw it up like always.
The soundtrack is really good, its epic, and suspenseful, in a way. But what really wins with Metal Gear Solid is the gameplay. Never have i seen a game series so great when it comes to gameplay, it combines stealth and action perfectly. It's a great combination. And it gets even better as the series progresses.
But the only downside is that it's short, if you skip pretty much ALL of the cut-scenes, you got about 3-4 hours. Not really long, but to be honest, i don't give a s***, also, if your playing this on the PS2, your gonna need a ps1 mem. card. But thats about all the negatives.
And who cares about the negatives in Metal Gear Solid, 3-4 hours, so what?! Metal Gear Solid's gameplay is rewarding, In fact, the entire series is rewarding! Metal Gear Solid combines Stealth and Action perfectly. This is absolutely one of Konami's Finest. If you have a ps1, or a ps2 with a ps1 mem. card, or hell, a ps3. Pick this game up!
