the immersive story , the awesome characters, the solid and new gameplay made this game one of the best games ever made
Let's go back to the cold war. The story is about an american soldier ( the boss ) who defects to the soviet union. Then a russian research facility is destroyed at the time that Snake , an american soldier , was in russian territory . Of course they made him the number one suspect ... and now to prove the america innocence the boss must be killed by her most loyal disciple,Snake.This game will definitely aswer some of the questions left from mgs1 and mgs2.
Like his predecessors mgs3 is an action stealth game and some new aspects and stealth moves have been added to this game like cqc ( close quarters combat ).It's basically a technique that after grabbing the oponent snake can execute a variety of manouvers like human shield, throw after capture and even interrogate the enemy.
Another innovation is the camouflage that allows snake to walk without being detected by his enemies. You can see how well snake blends with his surroundings with the camo index that is located on the upper right corner of the screen. Simple moves like runing stalking or crawling affects your camo index.So if you want to pass through the enemies without being seen you have to walk carefully and use the appropriate camouflage to your environment.
Another new aspect is the stamina gauge. If you have a low stamina gauge,a variety of negative effects will happen on snake's performance. You have to eat to replenish it.You can capture animals on the jungle to eat or you can simply capture them alive and throw them at the enemy . Poisonous and rotten food can be used to your advantage.
Facing the enemy or being bitten by poisonous animals or eat rotten food can provoke serious injuries on snake. That's why the cure menu was added to the game. It allows you to treat snake's wounds or inject some antidote ( in case if you were bitten by a poisonous animal or if you eated rotten food ) and this will alow snake to recover faster ( it also depends of the stamina).
There are various types of camera views on mgs3 . Let's talk about the normal view ( when you are walking or running ).The default camera is an overhead view. That is truly a disadvantage because in certain situations for example when you are being attacked from off screen, you can't see your enemies and that can be very annoying but the camera still helps when you are at open areas.
Mgs3 is maybe the game with more weapons and equipment. The game is packed with such weapons as a single action army, a scorpion, a very powerfull shotgun m37, a rocket launcher, a cigar shaped narcosis gun and even a fork ! And also with equipment such as an active sonar, fake death pill ( it's a drug that produces a temporary state of fake death ) and the typical cigar . Each weapon got his special functions and it's used for certain types of situations.
The graphics ,unlike his predecessors, are very different. The environment is very detailed and the character design is awesome.
When you are passing through the jungle you will notice that all nature sounds are there. Different sounds affects the enemy as well. For example if you are running the enemy will notice .. but if you crawl or stalk with carefull they will not notice you.
Mgs3 is definitely an indispensable game on your collection and it's the ultimate stealth n' action game ! mgs strikes again !
