When I saw Metal Gear rising coming out I wasen't sure what to think, I love Metal Gear Solid, but wasen't sure if it would play like a traditional style MGS game and thats ok because the way it does play is good, but I just feel like this game was a bit rushed. So first off lets talk about the Story, it's alright nothing too fancy but I wish their was a little more to it, basically the premise is that a US congressman is funding company's around the world to take little kids brains and use those brains to make cyborgs out of them and make an army out of them, but you don't find this out until the end of the story and that kind of makes the story feel a little bit rushed as I said before. The graphics look like most MGS games, amazing, not much too really say but they look visually stunning. Then you have got the music, it's not bad but I feel like it dosen't have that MGS vibe too it but I guess whatever still not bad. The Navigation also is pretty well done you have got a map and it shows you a target on where to go good enough for me.

So lets finally talk about the gameplay, this is where MGRR shines the beat em up segments are superb, maybe my favorite style in all beat em up games, Raiden uses his sword to slash his enemys up and the controls feel so right, and once you beat up your enemies to a certain extent you can cut them up into tiny little chunks and thats one thing I loved about this game it made it so satisfying and it was honestly something new to keep the beat em up segments fresh. Your main way of getting around also is a ninja run you run and will jump through certain obstacles it's not bad but can be a little hard to control becuase you are moving to fast and sometimes you will fall off the platform you are on and will have to climb up on the platform again, it's not too bad but can get a little irritating sometimes. The ninja run will also make you notice another flaw in the game and thats the camera, its not terrible but I don't understand why they went with this mechanic with the camera, basically you control the camera with the R3 stick and thats fine, but for a fast paced beat em up style game like MGRR it can be a little all over the place sometimes but it's not too bad but again not perfect. Next we got the Boss battles every single one is great, well... except the last one, (Spoiler Alert) when you fight with the Senator funding this whole project he starts throwing rocks at you during the fight and you must slice them in the correct direction so you don't get hit and if you do get hit twice you die and you must hit them because it will not matter if you survive the first time he will jump up and get some more so you must destroy them. Well the first time playing this I had no idea how, their was no boss that made it mandatory to have to cut a certain area untill this one so i had no idea how to do this and I had to replay this battle like fifty times until I finally got that you must use L3 to move the direction of your blade, They never told me this and why couldn't they have just told me this when they showed the rock coming, but other then that the boss battle wasen't too bad.

Overall MGRR is a really fun game the only big problem for me is that sixty dollar price tag for a five hour game, I realize that there are other things too do in this game but that still dosen't sit well with me, but the game itself is very good and really fun if it had a little more depth to it, it would be a much better game and another thing I would like to mention about this game is that a lot of parts in this game are supposed to be stealth and they didn't even add a mechanic too hide near objects so you will end up making too many mistakes because of this. Im getting off topic though, all I want to say though is this game is worth buying when its about thirty five dollars, but this is an overall fun game.
