Have you grown tired of the Call of Duty series? What if you had the chance to experience war but in a way that was completely different from any other game out there? Would you take a chance and try it? If you answered yes to any of these questions then Medal of Honor is a game that is sure to please. What separates Medal of Honor from any other shooter on the market is by far the level of believability within the story itself. At its core Medal of Honor is a military shooter but with a unique story and setting. Unlike other shooters Medal of Honor takes place in Afghanistan and follows 3 main characters from different units but all from some form of American special ops units.

While not ground breaking Medal of Honor's graphics are still pretty solid darn all around. While things may seem a bit rough at times the core presentation is pretty good. Character models, guns and locations may seem a bit off they do a great job of representing each.

At its core Medal of Honor is your typical first person shooter with the basics covered. However the game does have some issues with invisible walls. Now this may not be all that troublesome the first time around but once you go through the campaign twice these invisible walls start to become something of an annoyance as the game defines its own peace and will not let you deviate from the assigned path or area in what otherwise would be accessible locations. At the same time these invisible walls are there to let the story itself play out so you may find yourself unable to move forward until after the AI characters finish talking or get to door that you need to progress through. On the upside once you finish the main story you unlock a timed mode in which your goal is to get through a map as fast as possible to register a strong time while killing your foes pause's the ever ticking clock.

On the multiplayer side of things Medal of Honor is different and at the same time provides a challenging experience. The maps vary in size depending on what mode your playing in but all are balanced out nicely. At the same time your foes can kill you quickly because unlike other shooters where you can typically take a decent amount of damage before you die you will die after only a couple of hits. This means you'll need a quick trigger finger to survive in Medal of Honors multiplayer. On the downside the game does use an online pass there for if you buy it used or get it from a friend you'll need to pay to use the online function.

Overall Medal of Honor is a pretty decent shooter and while it's certainly not ground breaking it does accomplish what it sets out to do which is tell a unique story that works in the context of the game's setting.
