When somebody mentions a WWII shooter you would probably kill him. So many games with World War themes came out till today. So many that you simply can't expect anything better or new. But Medal of Honor: Airborne brings a lot of new stuff to the series and the category. The open world style of playing is not in the game, as promised, but there is a lot of good stuff to mention. The most innovative thing is this- when you start a mission, or you die, you jump from the airplane and you can see the whole battlefield that you can fight on. It lets you make different moves and tactics every time you jump in the battle. You can flank your enemy or shoot them from above, from a tower or from a ruined houses' attic nearby. In the most simple sentence- you can choose your own way of winning the battle. The competitive part of the game is the multiplayer . It's pure and addictive fun with lots of new maps every time, home made mods and types of matches.The quick flashback storyline: You are Boyd Travers from the 82nd Airborne Division. You are sent on some of the most important missions of the US Army in WWII such as Market Garden, Husky , Varsity and many more.Your main goal ,in most of the missions, is to clear a part of a town, to defend a backup convoy from the angry Nazi troopers, or to blow up stuff like AA Guns and support more Airborne troops to land on the battlefield successfully and to help you in battle. You fight against all kinds of Nazi soldiers and , in the first mission, the Italian Blackshirts . Your arsenal of weapons consists of: M1A1 Thompson submachine gun, STG 44, MP40 "Machinenpistole", Colt 45. , M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle, M1 Garand, M12 Shotgun, K98 Karabinier , Mauser pistol, G43 rifle, Springfield sniper rifle, rocket launcher Panzershreck and M18 Recoilless Rifle. The game uses Unreal Engine 3.0 and shows all benefits and power of the mentioned gaming program. The graphics are brilliant, one of the best visual sights in FPS games ever. Textures are realistic, models are realistic as well ,but the only not-cool-looking things are the explosions and the smoke. Everything else is brilliant. It's a cool and surprising FPS game of the already seen scheme.
