It's the best of both worlds.

We have been waiting a long time for Marvel vs Capcom 3 and it finally came. There's good things and bad things about this game. Good things about this game is that it's still the same fighting game we all know and love, we have both new and returning characters from both the Marvel and the Capcom side and there's a trial system which was first introduced in Street Fighter IV. Some bad things about the game have to do with some of the online modes. There's no replay channel or any kind of replay system and you can't see other people play live while you're waiting for your turn in an online lobby. They had that in Super Street Fighter IV. It's a shame they don't have it in this game. Hopefully a patch gets released but it's not likely to happen. If you have an arcade stick, this is the game to use it with. A standard controller wouldn't work very well with a game like this. I usually play fighting games with a standard controller but for Marvel vs Capcom, an arcade controller is much better. Some characters who were in Marvel 2 are not in this game but a few new characters make up for it. In this game we have Amaterasu (Okami) Zero (Mega Man X), Nathan Spencer (Bionic Commando), Dante and Trish (Devil May Cry), Chris and Wesker (Resident Evil 5), Viewtiful Joe, Haggar (Final Fight), Crimson Viper (Street Fighter IV) and also Arthur (Super Ghosts n' Goblins). On the Marvel side, we have She Hulk, X-23, Pheonix, Deadpool, Taskmaster and Thor. There's also old favorites like Hulk, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Magneto, and my personal favorite, Wolverine. It can't be a vs. Capcom game without Ryu and Chun-Li and they're always in a vs. Capcom game and always will be. A lot of the characters' looks are their old looks and others have brand new looks. Storm is one of them because she used to wear a white gown and she doesn't sport that anymore. Everyone else looks the same as they used to. All the characters have new voices. Some are good others not so much. The Marvel characters are all voiced very well and the same goes for the Capcom side but others sound better in Japanese. The gameplay isn't any different from past games. We still have character assists, air combos and even hyper combos. Marvel vs Capcom 3 uses an icon and title just like Street Fighter IV only this time you can make your own teams of 3 and do a quick select in the character select menu. There's also 2 ways to play it. Simple mode has you playing with 1 button for light, medium and heavy and one button for special and another for a the hyper combo. The only problem is that you're limited. Which is why I prefer Normal mode. This is a game we have been waiting for many years and it finally arrived.
