A game that you all have probably played before, but if you own one of the GBA ports, just stick with that...

Mario Brothers, the first Mario game ever crafted. Does this game hold up after all those years? The answer, is no. Mario Brothers is a game where you obviosly play as the Mario Borthers., excpet this game isnt like Mario's current adventures, in this game Mario must kill evil turtle, crabs and fireflys, by doing the same excact thing to all of them, hitting them from bellow the platform the stand on and then running up and kicking them. Yea, thats really all you ever do in this game, except sometimes there are more enmies and crabs must be hit twice before you can kick them. Overall it just isnt fun anymore.

The graphics are well NES graphics, except i dont remember 8-bit being this ugly, koopas look normal, but the crabs look like one eyed and one clawed mutant crabs, the fireflys look decent. In all the Mario games, mario has never looked so fat, i also don't remember his hair being blue. But aside from that, the graphics do look ok, there is a black backround, and there are pipes and the platforms which look like they should.

Like i said before, the game is very repetitive, and takes the least bit of skill, the only thing that really changes from level to level is the platform color, and the amount of enemies you face. Unlike every other Mario game, once you jump, you have to land. I mean like you cant move backwards while jumping and what not. A small factor, but it gets rather annoying. Another thing is that this Fireball comes sometimes and kills you. To be honest... wtf? A fireball!? Sure this game isnt that relistic but a fireball?! It comes at you pretty fast and its kinda hard to avoid so you basicly screwed when one of these come along You can play with 2 players where you can compete or work together, the only thing keeping this part from sucking is your competitive side. Now the wii offers many control options, such as the wiimote and the Gamecube controller. The wiimote works the best, seeing that its the easiest to get used to.

The music and the sound effects are probably the best part of this game, pretty catchy, and very suiting.

Another thing is that this game has been re-released onto every GBA Mario game, if you own one, you not only get a better version of this game, but another whole game alltogether! and seeing that most people own a GBA, and a Mario game on the GBA, you probably own this already so there is really little reason to buy this game (i bought this on accident (funny story)...).

Mario Brothers is a pretty bad game, and chances are you already own it. But if you have 5$ laying around and love this game, then i guess you could buy it....
