Okay, so with all of the hype/controversy surrounding this game, how does it pan out? Well, to start with, Manhunt 2 is a very gory game. Surprisingly, there is not much blood but the gore makes up for this. Some of you may enjoy total bloodbaths and gorefests, if not, then this is not the game for you. The game itself is very different. The actual gameplay looks as if you are looking through a filter or an old VHS movie. This adds a "gritty" affect to the game which, in my opinion, is pretty sweet. The game is about a man, Danny Lamb, who has had his past removed and he fights to gain it back while his strange accomplice, Leo, "advises" him. So as not to spoil anything I will not go into any details... but the levels consist of asylums, gas stations, neighborhoods, and laboratories. Also, weapons are very widespread and range from hedge clippers, shotguns, cattle prods, flashlights, etc... As the game progresses the weapons get bigger, stronger, and (of course) more brutal. One of the Manhunt "traits" are the executions. This is the easiest ways to take out enemies. There are three-tiered levels of executions: violent, bloody, and gruesome (something like this). The downside is you have to wait and stake out until you can sneak for the execution which is very rewarding. I found Manhunt 2 very frustrating. First off, the camera was getting me killed half the time. I would be trying to fight and the camera was zoomed in on a wall. Second, AI is ridiculous. They can get stuck between objects, shoot at your general area for minutes, and don't know how to fight worth anything. This takes away from the fact that you are facing trained "hunters" who are after you and are supposed to be experts at killing and "cleaning" up. There are many moments where you hold your breath in anticipation of what is about to come. I found my first play-through enjoyable, after this, it got very repetitive. The same synopsis: kill them before they kill you. All-in-all, Manhunt 2 is an okay game but it is definitely not worth the money. The first play through may be exhilarating, but after that it loses it's touch very fast.
