Aye Carumba, what a waste!

This game could have been so much more! Once you actually got in to playing it, it became addictive, but the negatives definitely outweighed the positive on this one. There were many problems with this game, and they are as follows:

1) First, the password feature. For any game with 2007 in the title, I expect it to have a save feature. Is that too much to ask? Now, I don't mind passwords, except that on this game it was the worst experience I've ever had with them! First off, the password is about 24 characters long, so it takes a while to put it in. Second, you can't tell the difference between some characters, like d's and 0's, b's and 8's, etc. A few times I inputted a password I'd earned after a game played, and it didn't work! That was the most frustrating part about it. I should have finished this game much sooner than I actually did.

2) Reconfirmations. On every other game I have ever played, if you go to the pause menu and go to the exit/quit option, it asks you if you really want to do it once you press the button. One time I was trying to change my pitcher, but I didn't go down the menu far enough and accidentally chose the "quit" option. It just took me right back to the main menu in mid game! No, "Do you really want to quit" or anything! Unbelievable.

3) The gameplay is not bad. The batting was frustrating at first because you have to lock in to where you want to swing the bat before the pitch is even thrown. However, once you get used to the game, it works itself out. My only concern on the gameplay was the size of the field and the baserunning. The outfield was HUGE! When a fielder was throwing it in, you had NO idea, really, of what base he was throwing it to. And the players would run so slow around the base paths it was frustrating. That really extended the amount of time that games actually took to play.

4) And the last glitch is somewhat related to the passwords. When I won my ALCS series and was going in to the World Series, the password I got started the World Series off tied at 1 game each! So, I didn't even get to play the first two games of the World Series! And then halfway through the games I did play, my opponent changed! I was supposed to be playing the Phillies, but all of a sudden I was playing the Dodgers, who the Phils had beaten in the NLCS. Man alive. So, overall this game was a giant piece of crap, only buy it if you find it cheap, VERY CHEAP. But I must say, despite all the frustrations, once you got in to the game and were playing it, it was a fair bit of fun. But, they really should have tested this one out a lot more before they let it hit the shelves.
