Shame on You 2K Sports!

Like most, I waited what seemed to be forever for this game to finally come out and fully expecting a kick-butt game, but... At first sight, I knew I had just wasted my money. 2K might have landed the exclusive rights to MLB games, but MLB is one that comes out looking bad in the end. I guess it really is all about the money these days and not about the MLB slogan "I Live for This" that players are shouting on commercials promoting America's great past-time. Jon Miller & Joe Morgan seem to be feeling their ages, because they sound more dead than some of the zombies in George Romero's movies. Horrible commentating ( And that's hard for me to say, because I love Jon Miller on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball ) all the way through. They always seem to be a step behind and that really get's annoying after about the first 2 or 3 inning's. Gameplay is.... Ugh! I might as well be playing RBI Baseball on the NES. Graphics are sub-par as well. Is that Nomar's nose or a piece of cheese? The music I could really do without. MVP '06 NCAA Baseball had a very solid sound to it, courtesy of the great folks at Victory Records. Maybe next year they'll do us one better and go after Roadrunner Records catalog of heavy hitters -- Slipknot, ill Nino, and Trivium anyone? I'm not here to pimp EA, although their collegiate brand has a very bright future. In no way do I favor one company over the other, because last year MLB was my favorite, MVP the year before that, and ESPN the year before that. But this game is a smack in the face, especially after all the delays to get it on store shelves. The only thing that is remotely interesting is the scouting reports you have to pay for on certain teams, players, stars, and pitchers. It's really a wicked concept, that seemed to be well thought out. Too bad 2K couldn't use that innovation with the rest of the game. P.S. -- I am a St. Louis Cardinals fanatic, and I'm pretty sure that's old Busch Stadium in the game and on April 10th we just opened a $365M NEW Busch Stadium. What's up with that?
