MagnaCarta 2 has every RPG cliche in the book, and takes a long time to get going, but is quite rewarding in the end.

Lanzaim is in need of saving. Doomseeds are falling once again, draining the magic that people use for everyday life- called Kan- away. Journey through the land to stop the Seedfall and discover exactly what is going on with several plot twists along the way.

Gameplay 7- MC 2 is your typical and classic RPG feel, but with surprisingly fun real-time battles. You can switch between combat and running around on the fly. Also you can change who your party leader is, which is who you control. Each character has two different weapon styles which bring about different strategies based on your setup.

Possibly the thing that will most likely turn people away from this game is how incredibly long it takes to really get interesting. A good 5 hours is how long it took for the game to hook me in, and various battle tutorials were still being brought up around the end of the first disc (there are two) which was over 30 hours in for me. MagnaCarta 2 requires one to have a lot of patience if you are going to stick with it and see it through to the end.

There is also a ton of RPG story cliche's present and predictable plot twists. However what the game lacks in quality of story and time to get good, if you are able to play through this big game, which can easily take 60+ hours, you still come away from it feeling satisfied.

Graphics 9- This game's strongest point. It uses the Unreal Engine very well. Characters are very well detailed and the environments are beautiful, although a bit reused and lack some variety. An odd thing is that any person that is not part of the party or main story characters when you see them on full-body portraits (like when they are talking to you) those generic characters look less detailed, especially on their model textures.

Sound 7- The music is more or less completely forgettable and gets to be a bit annoying after staying in one location for too long. Make sure to have some music on the 360 hard drive to listen to while you play. The sound effects are passable, and the voice acting is well done.

Fun Factor 8- The realtime battles keep you in the action and require more than just button mashing, though in the end, most of the fights in the game, including bosses require nothing more than gradual wailing on them until you win; with you and the enemy taking turns popping special moves. There isnt much strategy to be had.

Replay Value 7- There is no New Game +, yet there doesnt feel there needs to be. As you will get several chances to run around and do sidequests as much as you want.

In the end Magnacarta 2 is a good RPG that it's biggest problem is how long it takes to get going. It looks good, it controls well, has too many cliches, and has fun combat.

Final Score- 38/50 (7.6)
