Mafia II is a great follow up to the original and it adds a lot of great new features to make the game able to compete with other great sandbox games. This games focus is story and it absolutely nails the role of Vito and completely immerses you in his life and the city of Empire Bay. The shooting and driving is great and is fun and easy to use. My only complaint with the game is that it is far too short. Especially for a game that focuses on story they should have added a few more chapters so that the game could last longer. I am glad that they added a cover system and better shooting mechanics to the series because the gun play in this game was extremely satisfying. The level of gore was perfect for this type of game as well. This game is a worthy competitor of other major open world games like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. It doesn't have the same amount of diversions to keep you busy but that wasn't the developers focus. This is a truly fantastic mob tale that shouldn't be missed by anyone who likes gritty gangster stories.
