what happened to the smarter A.I.?
They slowed this game down but that doesnt make up for the lack of a.i. in this game. You can literally find ONE play that works and run it over and over and over and it will work EVERYTIME!
speed ratings are flawed in this game. a WR with a 89 speed rating will win a foot race against a CB with a speed rating of 97.
The offensive line still lets guys run through untouched.
Defenders take horrible angles when running to a player... which actually allows the opposing team to gain more yards because instead of going to make the tackle they will instead turn and try to meet up with them 10 yards down the field.
players are out of position A LOT in this game! you assign champ bailey to larry fitzgerald? well if he's across the field he and the defenders that are switching will get set and than run across the field to try and get to their assignment.
I played one game online where i literally could not pass the ball once!!!! I played as the broncos against the raiders. i would run a 5 reciever set. hike the ball and every defender would lock up on my reciever and it would look like a girl fight. i dont know if theirs some kind of cheat out their for that.... but i couldnt pass for one yard the whole game because of that.
this game has great graphics... but the mechanics are God awful. we are still seeing the same animations that have been in madden for over a decade! you have very little control over whats going on... hike the ball and when an animation starts... you can literally set the controller down because the controls go dead. players still run out of bounds. BROKEN
EA tried to make it seem like the players feet and the ground acutally make contact. NOPE! players still slide all over the place like their on ice! BROKEN
QB sneak is way too easy. get down to the goal line and your guaranteed to get in! BROKEN
and speaking of goal line.... every time you run a play at the goal line it will go to the referees deciding what they saw. even when you obviously got in... it cuts to the referees. BROKEN
ball spotting is bad. you got that first down but it says fourth and inches... you challenge.... replay shows the ball ahead of the line... clearly.... nope.... PLAY STANDS! BROKEN!
they added the "gang tackle" to the game. sounds like it would be great right?! WRONG. gang tackle starts... and if its the animation where the ball carrier is going to break free... you better hope you have a fast defender around... because once that animation starts... nobody in "the gang" is going to bring him down... defenders will just slide off the animation when making an attempt to tackle.
how about the "fight for the fumble"? the other team fumbles the ball... you jump on it... get it in your hands.... you notice that the ball is spinning in place. what the????? here comes the button mashing game... which shows your winning.... it fades away ANNNNNNND...... THE OTHER TEAM GAINS POSSETION OF THE BALL!!!!! WHAAAT?!!!!! no way... let me challenge that... i clearly had the ball.... WAIT... I CANT CHALLENGE IT?!!!! BROKEN!!!!
the hit stock feature is broken. dont you just hate it when you tackle someone... their falling to the ground... their literally parrallell to the ground... but they press the hit stick and they magically slide upwards and back on their feet.
hey... do you like the throwback uniforms this year? the ones you see your teams playing in... in REAL LIFE? you can get them on madden 2010!!!! but wait.... does it come with the game? i mean, you did pay 64 and some change for this game right? NOPE... you have to buy that too.. thats extra!
dont even get me started on the franchise mode. BORING! no training camp. no workouts. no progression. just game to game with no emotion. yeah you still get the weekly report where the reporters are wearing the same clothes... saying the same thing. superbowl is boring.
commentary is the worst its ever been. its pretty bad when you get us wishing we had "the radio guy" back.
this is just a very broken game. EA claims all these additions. but the truth is, is that they took these things away and are now bringing them back saying that they were never in the game.
they bought the rights to the nfl license.... to espn. but they dont use any of it at all. which just comes to show that they didnt buy out the nfl to make a better game. they bought it out so we would have have one choice when playing a football game. i cannot wait until they lose the license.... a real team comes in and makes an authentic football game.... and ea is going to come crashing down. i cant wait.... but until that day comes i highly suggest that you DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!! it is not even worth the disc its burned on!
