a challenge allright

User Rating: 6.3 | Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 AMI
Lotus turbo challenge 2 is the sequel to Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge. Some things have changed this time around. You will be driving both the Esprit as well as the Lotus Elan convertible. There are different kinds of terrains including snow-covered terrain, deserts and two-way motorways with opposing traffic. Last but not least you are not racing laps, but very long tracks which are divided in sections. To finish a track you have to get to to end of each section within a timelimit. You can play the game on you own, but also on a splitscreen with a friend. If one player finishes a track then both players advance to the next of the eight courses. I used to play this game with a friend and we'd always got to stage 4 or 5. It's a difficult racing game, demanding lots of practice and good reflexes. The corners can be very difficult to hold, particulary on the snow and desert tracks. It is an exiting game as you can see time running out while you desperately try to make it to the next secion. The graphics were fine at the time. There never was much detail in the surroundings, actually none, but the cars and tracks looked good. You cannot compare it to today's racing games which are much, much better, both in graphics, sound and gameplay. Racing games have come a long way since Lotus Turbo Challenge 2.
