Even though i cant consider myself as huge third person player this game offered me fun and enjoyable time. Must have.

Long time since i played and really enjoyed a third person shooter (since Hitman) but something has attracted me to this game and i must say i havent regret a minute of playing this thrilling game. What is the difference between Colonies Edition and original Extreme Conditions you may ask... Well nothing specific but the new multiplayer maps, a Human vs Akrid multiplayer mode, and a selection of new monsters and weapons. In addition, Luka is a playable character. This originaly console port deliver us some extra goodies on PC version such as Over the shoulder style view mode, three new characters with each character featuring unique weapons and characteristics mostly seen on multiplayer mode only (which i havent tried to be honest). Graphics in this game is made almost superb ...offer us full support of DX10 technology which utilizes Geometry Shader to improve the game's visuals with greater depth of field, improved motion blur, and fur shading. Visual side of this PC version couldnt be made better if you ask me, and the best part is ...if you have a decent now-a-days computer FPS wont drop bellow 30, which is very playable even with all the options included (AA,AF). I personally enjoyed shooting from mech`s rocket launcher just to see the smoke effect, again and again. When you fight against EVEC Mechs or Acrids (giant monsters) its vise to use one of those armors otherwise you wont stand a chance. Gameplay speak for itself, 11 long missions look even longer because of the time you spent on very hard bosses, it will took you a numerous replayings. Game wont became repetitive until the very end, because of various weapons (huge arsenal has been made extra wide for this edition) and approach to the enemy. Your energy while you being shot, drain your life and wont let you rest until you keep on progressing further, because its freezing out there, logically on frozen planet. Story is nothing special but its OK for this type of action/ adventure game (dont want to spoil it for you). Music, voice acting and sounds perfectly describe the atmosphere (sound a little bit heroic, i might say). A little advice for the end ...every boss have its weak spots, some of them are very hard to find ...and oh, shoot at Mechs legs when you are on foot its their weakest spot.
My true recommendation!
