This amazing JRPG follows the best traditions and never disappoint. One of not so many games that can even make you cry.

In our world where Action/RPG titles gain more and more share of the market it is hard to find a true old type JRPG. "Lost Odyssey" surpasses all expectations with perfection in everything. Storyline evolves around main protagonist Kaim - an immortal mercenary, who forgot everything about how long he lived and what was before the grand battle from which the game starts. As the game progresses - he will gradually regain his memories and some of those memories return as THOUSAND YEARS OF DREAMS - stories that are written like books on the screen and accompanied just by ambience to give flight to your imagination. Some of those books (Bright Rain for example) can really make you cry and I am not joking. They are made so deep you will dive into those stories and really feel what Kaim was thinking. That is an awesome move. Battle system is traditional JRPG turn-based, however it is similar a bit to the "Legend Of Dragoon" on PSone. Also the unique aspect is MORTAL-IMMORTAL development system which is very nice. Battles involve much tactics and do not disappoint. Maybe slight flaw is with the random encounters since they are sometimes too annoying and loading times are a bit long. But because of awesome soundtrack, composed by Nobuo Uematsu true JRPG lovers will never notice the long transition between exploration and battle. Game storyline was written by the creator of Final Fantasy series - Hironobu Sakaguchi and that alone tells a lot. In overall it is a prime game which deserve highest praises in the world of JRPG.
